Does anyone actually remember what the Olympics was supposed to be about? I certainly don’t.
I wandered across an article on the BBC covering the corporate rush to the next Olympics, it reminds of pigs rushing to the swill trough. Of course, pigs aren’t given much of an option but the swill trough and aren’t supposed to know better.
If I hadn’t watched The Corporation I’d be asking questions about what they think they’re doing. Now I simply watch, wondering not if I’m too cynical, but if I can ever be cynical enough.
Given the situation in Tibet and China’s ongoing human rights issues we really shouldn’t be rushing in there, but I suppose the corporate fixation with the bottom line should say everything.
You can find the article on the BBC here.

Sadly, it’s all about the money, no? That, and this time around about China’s need to gain international respectability. Which they gain not through good behavior but through the agency of… money!
