Hello 2026

Hello 2026

This has been a long and busy year for The Mercian Pilgrim, I turned 50 and made it a resolution to visit as many new places as I could. It’s safe to say that I hit that mark already, and still have till April!

A lot of things went unreported and unfilmed, suffice to say that I had enough issues with time and mental energy in 2025.

My travels this year have covered a lot of ground, Avebury and West Kennet Long Barrow, Baddesley Clinton, The Rollright Stones (pictured), Gawton’s Well, Mitchell’s Fold, Titterstone Clee, Repton and many more places. It’s a privilege to be able to do this and a joy to stand in so many ancient places.

I have a few adventures to report on and more of them planned in the future. I am updating my YouTube channel again, the process of creating those videos using Free Software is a fascinating and rewarding learning process.

I have more to say on the subject of AI, after reflection and reading. More on that later!

  1. I highly recommend you listen to a short story called ‘The Sense Of Wonder’ by Milton Lesser, it is read on Librivox (very well) by one Edmund Bloxham. I have been considering turning it into a video as, to my mind, the tale speaks to the potential issues of A.I., if taken to the extreme. Scuse the stalking by the way but your creations peaked my interest.
